Football Recap: West Grand Mustangs vs. Lake County Panthers
West Grand put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past the Lake County Panthers 46-8 at home. The Mustangs' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
A big part of West Grand's victory came down to the chemistry between Blake Terryberry and his top target Joe Probst. Terryberry threw for 237 yards and five touchdowns on only 18 passes while Probst picked up 145 receiving yards and four touchdowns. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: Probst now posted 113 or more in the last six games he's played dating back to last season. A healthy portion of that aerial production (80 yards to be exact) also went to Jackson Steinle, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
West Grand's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0. As for Lake County, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Grand will host Plateau Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Plateau Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 point or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully West Grand likes a good challenge. As for Lake County, they will take on Hayden at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
