Baseball Recap: Williamsville East Comes Up Short

Williamsville East has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.78 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They lost 14-7 to the Hamburg Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 on Monday.

Cooper Rung made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-4. Those home runs marked the first that he has launched this season. Michael Panaro was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Williamsville East has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-6-1 record this season. As for Hamburg, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-6.

Williamsville East does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hamburg, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-7 tie against Sweet Home on the 21st.
