Copper Basin won against Robbinsville on Monday with 71 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. The Cougars claimed a resounding 71-33 win over the Hiwassee Dam Eagles. With that victory, the Cougars brought their scoring average up to 52.9 points per game.

Copper Basin got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Cora Kimsey out in front who shot 43% from the field en route to 23 points and eight steals. The dominant performance also gave Kimsey a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (50%). Another player making a difference was Alexis Hyatt, who posted 16 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals.

Copper Basin smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.

Copper Basin now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Hiwassee Dam, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Copper Basin will square off against Nantahala at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Hawks have been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Hiwassee Dam, they will host Polk County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats' defense has only allowed 29.5 points per game this season, so the Eagles' offense will have their work cut out for them.
