Baseball Game Preview: Dobie Longhorns vs. Manvel Mavericks

For the second straight game, Dobie will face off against Manvel. The Longhorns are taking a road trip to square off against the Mavericks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Dobie has seven straight wins, Manvel has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Tuesday, Dobie made easy work of Manvel and carried off a 15-5 victory. Considering the Longhorns have won 12 matchups by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Isaiah Jones was a standout: he got on base in all five of his plate appearances with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Juelz Martinez, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple.

Dobie always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Dobie pushed their record up to 16-11 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Manvel, they now have a losing record of 11-12.
