Soccer Recap: South Anchorage Takes Down Ranked Eagle River

South Anchorage faced Eagle River in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Wolverines' defense stepped up to hand Wolves an 8-0 shutout. Owen Brown was a massive factor in the win as he booted in three goals all by himself.

Something new happened on Wednesday as Zach Buss saw his first action of the season, playing 20 minutes against Eagle River. Buss made the most of the opportunity, scoring a goal A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.

The win made it two in a row for South Anchorage and bumps their season record up to 6-4. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those two games. As for Eagle River, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-12.
