Preview: Chase County Bulldogs vs. Peabody-Burns Warriors

Chase County is 7-1 against Peabody-Burns since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Chase County Bulldogs will head out on the road to challenge the Peabody-Burns Warriors at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Saturday, Chase County was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 59-53 to Council Grove. Chase County has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Peabody-Burns' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Herington, falling 69-40.

Despite their defeat, Peabody-Burns saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Aiden Hurst, who scored six points along with seven rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Dalton Philpott, who scored ten points along with two steals.

Even though they lost, Peabody-Burns smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Chase County has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season. As for Peabody-Burns, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.

Everything came up roses for Chase County against Peabody-Burns in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 58-16 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Chase County since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
