Softball Recap: Del Oro Takes a Loss

Del Oro extended their losing streak to seven on Tuesday, dropping them down to 7-16. They lost 20-10 to the Mira Monte Lions. While the Suns didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Lions 4-0 in the first period.

Bianca Paredes was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Davina Garcia, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

As for Mira Monte, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-13. With that win, they brought their scoring average up to 6.7 runs per game.

On Mira Monte's side, Gabriella Perez was a standout: she went 4-for-6 with three runs, three doubles, and three RBI. Those four hits gave Perez a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Audrina Perez, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Mira Monte beat Del Oro by a score of 28-4 on Thursday.
