Eastside has enjoyed a four-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Garrett Railroaders at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
Eastside lost 3-0 to Fremont on Thursday. The Blazers have struggled against the Eagles recently, as their game on Thursday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-19, 25-13.
Meanwhile, Garrett got the win against Central Noble on Thursday by a conclusive 3-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Railroaders.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-21, 25-18.
Garrett can attribute much of their success to Ashlee Vanderbosch, who had six aces and five digs. Those six aces gave Vanderbosch a new career-high.
She wasn't the only good server: Garrett was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in six consecutive games.
Eastside's defeat dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Garrett, their record is now 10-16.
