Hamilton Southeastern can't be too worried about heading out to take on Franklin Central: they just beat Carroll at home, who had been dominant on their own field up to that point. The Royals came out on top against the Chargers by a score of 6-2 on Saturday.
Grace Swedarsky spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Kaitlyn Burdick was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and two runs. That's the most runs she has posted over her last 11 matches.
Franklin Central came out on top against Fishers on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run fourth inning. The Flashes took their game against the Tigers 16-11. The victory continues a trend for the Flashes in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won five in a row.
Franklin Central got a massive performance out of Audrina Yorn, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Alex Ireland, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and one double.
Franklin Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. They are 12-2 when they post 11 or more hits.
Hamilton Southeastern pushed their record up to 17-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Franklin Central, their record now sits at 16-9.
Hamilton Southeastern skirted past Franklin Central 1-0 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Royals since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
