Baseball Game Preview: North Creek Jaguars vs. Bothell Cougars

For the second straight game, North Creek will face off against Bothell. The Jaguars will head out on the road to challenge the Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. North Creek's pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so Bothell's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

It was a proper cat-fight when North Creek challenged Bothell on Friday. The Jaguars narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Cougars 3-2.

Kody Moyer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on three hits and racked up seven Ks. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because North Creek is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 2-5 otherwise.

At the plate, North Creek's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Zach Daniel, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. Aidan Kim also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Bothell is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-6. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 2.2 runs. As for North Creek, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
