Recap: Strasburg Indians vs. Platte Valley Broncos
The Strasburg Indians waltzed into their match on Thursday with four straight wins but they left with five. They took down Platte Valley 63-44. For Strasburg, this counts as revenge for the 66-47 loss Platte Valley walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.
It was another big night for Tyce Bollers, who scored 23 points along with five rebounds and two blocks. That's the first time this season that he posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Velasco, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Platte Valley lost, one person who can't be blamed is Braylon Edstrom. Despite the final result, he scored 20 points along with four steals. Edstrom has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played. Regan Edstrom was another key contributor, scoring five points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Strasburg pushed their record up to 10-1 with that win, which was their tenth straight at home. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 25.7 points. As for Platte Valley, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.
Strasburg will head out on the road to face off against Byers at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Platte Valley, Platte Valley and Highland will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
