Soccer Game Preview: Azle vs. Granbury

Azle is 0-6-1 against Granbury since January of 2016 but things could change on Friday. The Azle Hornets will look to defend their home pitch against the Granbury Pirates at 7:45 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Azle is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Tuesday. They lost 8-0 to Saginaw.

Meanwhile, Granbury has been on a difficult stretch since their win on December 17. They fell just short of Saginaw by a score of 2-1 on Friday. The contest was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but the Pirates couldn't quite close it out.

Granbury's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5-5. As for Azle, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8-1.

Azle suffered a grim 6-0 defeat to Granbury in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can Azle avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
