Volleyball Recap: Standley Lake Gators vs. Pueblo County Hornets

Standley Lake had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They skirted past the Pueblo County Hornets 3-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Gators.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Standley Lake who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 23-25, 25-12, 17-25, 15-13.

Maryn Paulson was the offensive standout of the contest as she had 13 digs and four assists. That's the most assists she has posted since back in September of 2024. Sophia Lambrecht-Gardner also deserves some recognition as she had her first blocks of the season.

Emma Garcia and Cylie Leonard certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Garcia had 14 digs and three aces, while Leonard had 17 digs and two assists. Garcia is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Standley Lake's victory bumped their record up to 21-4. As for Pueblo County, their defeat ended an eight-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-6.

As of now, neither Standley Lake nor the Hornets have any future games scheduled.
