Basketball Recap: Marion H Hawks vs. Gilead Christian Eagles
The Gilead Christian Eagles typically have all the answers at home, but on Saturday the Marion H Hawks proved too difficult a challenge. They took down the Eagles 60-43. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Marion H has managed all season.
Gilead Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Denim Myers, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Myers has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 11 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Talan Blankenship, who scored 14 points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Marion H and bumps their season record up to 6-2. As for Gilead Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 13-5.
Marion H will head out on the road to take on the Saints on Friday. As for Gilead Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
