Softball Recap: Ellsworth Takes a Loss

Ellsworth lost against Johannesburg-Lewiston on Wednesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Lancers lost 15-5 to the Cardinals. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Lancers have suffered since April 10, 2024.

Ellsworth saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was EmmaJo Meier, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. Meier is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games she's played.

This is the second loss in a row for Ellsworth and nudges their season record down to 2-2. As for Johannesburg-Lewiston, they pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Coming up, Ellsworth will face off against Alanson at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The contest will give the Lancers their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Johannesburg-Lewiston, they will venture away from home to take on Inland Lakes at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
