Basketball Recap: Helias Comes Up Short

If Helias was feeling good fresh off their 64-42 takedown of Bolivar last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Helias Crusaders were just a bucket shy of victory on Monday and fell 58-57 to the Jefferson City Jays. While losing is never fun, the Crusaders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 94th, while the Jays are ranked 19th).

Helias' defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Jefferson City, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.

While Helias had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
