The North Providence Cougars will take on the Narragansett Mariners at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (North Providence 3.6, Narragansett 3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
North Providence is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Rhode Island's top teams: St. Raphael Academy, who was ranked 15th at the time (North Providence was ranked 12th). The Cougars walked away with an 8-3 victory over the Saints last Monday.
Vin Pontarelli spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on nine hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Jayden Allard and Carter Harris did most of the damage at the plate: Allard went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double, while Harris went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Those three RBI gave Allard a new career-high.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: North Providence kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Narragansett, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Prout a 6-0 shutout on Saturday. The Mariners haven't had any issues with the Crusaders recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Aidan Clancey looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in ten consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jackson Hohl, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Sam Simoes, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Narragansett now has a winning record of 11-10. As for North Providence, their victory bumped their record up to 14-6.
