Basketball Game Preview: White County Warriors vs. Franklin County Rebels

The White County Warriors will challenge the Franklin County Rebels at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. White County will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.

Last Friday, White County didn't have too much trouble with Lawrence County as they won 70-51. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Wildcats are ranked 85th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

White County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bella Winningham, who shot 41% from the field to rack up 19 points and eight boards. Another player making a difference was Ava Jones, who went 5-for-12 en route to 17 points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Franklin County, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They snuck past Cumberland County with a 43-39 victory on Friday.

White County's win was their 22nd straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 29-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.3 points over those games. As for Franklin County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 19-13 record this season.

Everything went White County's way against Franklin County in their previous matchup back in November of 2021, as White County made off with an 84-60 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for White County since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
