Baseball Recap: Glens Falls Comes Up Short

Glens Falls dropped to 9-5 on Wednesday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They came up short against the Scotia-Glenville Tartans, falling 12-5. The Indians were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tartans earlier this season, when they won 4-3.

Brayden Bennett was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Jacob Hubert was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs.

As for Scotia-Glenville, they pushed their record up to 9-3 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games.

On Scotia-Glenville's side, Steven Nicklas was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most runs Nicklas has posted since back in May of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Nicholas Pedone, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Glens Falls is set to take on their familiar foe Broadalbin-Perth at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Scotia-Glenville will face off against rival Gloversville at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
