Basketball Recap: South Charlotte Comes Up Short

South Charlotte was the 67-29 winner over KACHEA when they last played one another back in March of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. The South Charlotte Thunder lost 78-52 to the KACHEA Wildcats on Friday. The Thunder have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why South Charlotte lost, don't look at Luke Ball. Despite the final result, he posted 20 points. Those 20 points gave Ball a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Porter, who scored 15 points.

Leading KACHEA to victory were Grant Thompson and Noah Coclough. Thompson shot 57% from beyond the arc to rack up 35 points, while Coclough went 11-for-16 en route to 27 points and five rebounds. Coclough has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 12 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Andrew Joyner, who earned eight points along with ten boards and five blocks.

South Charlotte's loss dropped their record down to 14-21. As for KACHEA, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-14 record this season.

As of now, neither South Charlotte nor KACHEA have any future games scheduled.
