Basketball Recap: Fort Ann Comes Up Short

Fort Ann was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were dealt a 55-22 loss at the hands of the Saratoga Central Catholic Saints. The Cardinals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Saints apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2015.

Saratoga Central Catholic found their leader in sophomore Sophia Ryan, who almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine steals. Ryan's evening made it eight games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Whitbeck, who posted 17 points and six boards.

Fort Ann's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Saratoga Central Catholic, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-5.

Fort Ann will face off against Lake George at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Saratoga Central Catholic, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 40-34 victory against Hoosic Valley on the 16th.
