            Softball Recap: Lake Stevens Vikings vs. Jackson Timberwolves        
        
		
        
        
            Lake Stevens proved they can win big  on Monday (they won by ten) and  on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Jackson Timberwolves, sneaking past  3-1. This was a revenge game for the Vikings: when they faced off against the Timberwolves  on April 3rd, they had to take a  4-3  loss.

 Mara Sivley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a  run (which was  unearned)  on three hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts any time she's  pitched this season.
 At the plate, Lake Stevens let  Reese Breckenridge and  McKenna Richer run wild. Breckenridge  earned one  run and four  stolen bases, while  Richer  went 2-for-4 with two  doubles, one  run,  and one  RBI. That's the most  doubles  Richer has posted since back in March of 2024.
Lake Stevens' win bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Jackson, they dropped their record down to 7-11 with the  defeat, which was their sixth straight  on the road.
 We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Lake Stevens will  face off against  rival Arlington  at 4:00  p.m.  on Friday. Meanwhile, Jackson is set to  square off against  their familiar foe Kamiak  at 4:00  p.m.  on Friday.
