No. 3 Long Island Lutheran, No. 6 Paul VI set to compete in GEICO Nationals later this week.

The 2022-23 high school basketball season is nearly complete as all 50 states and the District of Columbia have crowned champions over the past two months.

No. 10 Ben Davis (Indianapolis) became the 14th team in Indiana history to finish the season as unbeaten state champions, taking down Kokomo 53-41 in the Class 4A state title game.

No. 3 Long Island Lutheran (Brookville) claimed its ninth New York Federation state championship over the weekend, defeating Archbishop Stepinac (White Plains) 81-57 in the title game on Sunday.

A pair of nationally-ranked teams from Pennsylvania completed their state title runs last week as No. 5 Imhotep Charter (Philadelphia) won its second consecutive Class 5A state title with a 38-point thrashing and No. 21 Reading makes its season debut in the MaxPreps Top 25 after knocking off previous No. 17 Roman Catholic (Philadelphia) in overtime.

GEICO Nationals and the State Champions Invitational are the only remaining postseason events. Long Island Lutheran and No. 6 Paul VI (Chantilly, Va.) compete in GEICO Nationals beginning Thursday and No. 13 Roselle Catholic (Roselle, N.J.), No. 17 Sidwell Friends (Washington, D.C.) and No. 19 Wheeler (Marietta, Ga.) participate in the State Champions Invitational next week.
