Trumbull and Darien are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2016, but likely not for long. The Eagles will square off against the Blue Wave at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Trumbull's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Darien's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Darien will be up against a hot Trumbull team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Eagles walked away with a 5-2 win over Norwalk on Saturday. The game was the first time the Eagles have beaten the Bears on their field since May 8, 2019.

Meanwhile, Darien sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over Danbury on Saturday.

Vivian Knott spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on two hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

Darien always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .750. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Danbury only posted an OBP of .125.

Darien has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That lines up perfectly with their 16-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Trumbull, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6.
