            Baseball Recap: Milton Hershey Spartans vs. Steelton-Highspire Steamrollers        
        
		
        
        
            After low-scoring totals in their previous five contests, Milton Hershey brought some dynamite into their most recent  game. Everything went their way against the Steelton-Highspire Steamrollers on Thursday as they made off with  a  16-4 win. The Spartans not only won  on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win  since April 29, 2024.
 Ryan Wakeley made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He  struck out six batters over  5.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off   one  hit. Those  six  strikeouts gave  him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate,  scoring two  runs while  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  Parris Blackston was a standout: he scored a  run and  stole a base while  getting on base  in five of his six plate appearances. What's more,  he posted two  RBI, the most he's  had since back in May of 2024.  Bradley Pugliese was another key player,  scoring four  runs and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances.
 Milton Hershey  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .612. That's the best  OBP they've posted all season.

Milton Hershey's first  victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Steelton-Highspire, they dropped their record down to 0-5 with the  defeat, which was their eighth straight  at home dating back to last season.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Milton Hershey will challenge York County Tech at 4:30  p.m.  on Friday. York County Tech has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.33  runs per game on average), something Milton Hershey will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Steelton-Highspire, they will head out to  face off against East Pennsboro  at 4:15  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their  eighth straight  win, something the Steamrollers surely won't give up without a fight.
