Baseball Recap: Benton Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Benton dropped their record down to 6-4 on Thursday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins on the road dating back to last season. They lost 17-2 to the Montgomery Red Raiders. The contest marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Benton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Wayne Osborne, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

As for Montgomery, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games.

On Montgomery's side, Parker Bennett was a standout: he got on base in two of his three plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs. Those four stolen bases gave Bennett a new career-high. Parker Persing also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
