Softball Game Preview: Rolling Meadows Mustangs vs. Prospect Knights

Rolling Meadows hasn't had much luck against Prospect recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Mustangs will head out to square off against the Knights at 4:45 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Fremd hit Rolling Meadows with a four-run third inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Mustangs came up short against the Vikings, falling 10-0.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Prospect's offense. They lost 20-0 to Barrington on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Knights have suffered since April 16th.

Prospect has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 18-6 record this season. As for Rolling Meadows, their loss dropped their record down to 8-16.

Rolling Meadows couldn't quite finish off Prospect when the teams last played back in April and fell 4-2. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
