Basketball Preview: Delhi Bears vs. Tensas Panthers
Delhi is 8-2 against the Panthers since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Delhi Bears will head out on the road to take on the Tensas Panthers at 5:30 p.m. Delhi is coming into the contest hot, having won their last ten games.
Last Tuesday, Delhi strolled past the Gators with points to spare, taking the game 54-38.
Delhi's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jay Wright led the charge by scoring 14 points along with five steals. Wright has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Carvon Percy, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, even though Block scored an imposing 65 points on Tuesday, Tensas still came out on top. Tensas managed a 69-65 victory over the Bears. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Tensas.
Delhi pushed their record up to 18-7 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Tensas, the win got them back to even at 8-8.
Everything came up roses for Delhi against the Panthers in their previous matchup back in January as the team secured a 68-40 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Delhi since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
