Basketball Recap: The Village School of Naples Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact The Village School of Naples can now relate to. They took a 75-67 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Seacrest Country Day Stingrays on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 643rd, while the Stingrays are ranked 291st).

It was another big night for Fedor Vuksanovic, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and 15 boards for Seacrest Country Day. That's the most points Vuksanovic has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brady Barnaby, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 16 points and five rebounds.

The Village School of Naples' defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Seacrest Country Day, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.

The Village School of Naples does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Seacrest Country Day, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Donahue Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Donahue Catholic will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something Seacrest Country Day surely won't give up without a fight.
