Recap: Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy Crusaders vs. Community Christian Academy Warriors
The Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy Crusaders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 90-63 loss at the hands of Community Christian Academy. Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy has not had much luck with Community Christian Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Despite the loss, Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy still got an impressive performance from Josiah Whitmire, who dropped a double-double on 36 points and 14 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jonathon Gee, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy bumped their record down to 0-3 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home dating back to last season. As for Community Christian Academy, the win got them back to even at 5-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against The Master's Academy at 5:00 p.m. on December 12th. The Master's Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Community Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Christian Family Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Christian Family Academy is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
