Volleyball Recap: Centerville Starts off Right with Win over Franklin County

Centerville took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Franklin County Wildcats, sneaking past 2-1. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Centerville who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 23-25, 15-12.

Abi Sangster paced Centerville's offense, picking up seven kills. Sangster got some help from Camilla Waters and her 14 assists. Ellie Cox controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

Centerville has already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against South Adams on the 16th. As for Franklin County, they will face off against Hagerstown at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
