Basketball Game Preview: Herrin Tigers vs. Harrisburg Bulldogs

The Herrin Tigers will head out to square off against the Harrisburg Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

It was a proper cat-fight when Herrin duked it out withMarion on Saturday. Herrin was outmatched by Marion and fell 77-29. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 418th, while the Wildcats are ranked 96th).

Meanwhile, Harrisburg was fully in charge on Monday, breezing past Murphysboro 67-35. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 matches by 24 points or more this season.

Herrin has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost 12 of their last 14 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-17 record this season. As for Harrisburg, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season.

Herrin was taken down by Harrisburg 72-39 in their previous matchup back in January. Can Herrin avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
