Basketball Recap: Thomas Sumter Academy Takes a Loss

Thomas Sumter Academy lost against Colleton Prep Academy two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Thomas Sumter Academy Generals took a 35-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Colleton Prep Academy War Hawks. The contest marked the Generals' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the loss, Thomas Sumter Academy still got an impressive performance from Anna Bell, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 blocks. Those 12 points gave Bell a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ronia Sanders, who posted eight points and four steals.

Thomas Sumter Academy now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Colleton Prep Academy, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-1.

After both having extra time off, Thomas Sumter Academy and King's Academy will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 6:00 p.m. on January 9, 2025. As for Colleton Prep Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 47-22 victory against Holly Hill Academy on the 27th.
