Basketball Recap: Morristown-Hamblen West's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Three

While Morristown-Hamblen West's win against Campbell County wasn't quite the blowout they won the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Morristown-Hamblen West Trojans had just enough and edged the Campbell County Cougars out 53-50. The Trojans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cougars, too.

Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Luke Browning, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten boards. What's more, Browning also racked up four blocks, the most he's had since back in January of 2024. Gavin Cox was another key player, putting up 14 points and five rebounds.

The victory (which was Morristown-Hamblen West's third in a row) raised their record to 8-11. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points per game. As for Campbell County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-11 record this season.

Morristown-Hamblen West will challenge Powell at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Campbell County, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 60-50 win against Oneida on the 4th.
