Baseball Recap: Torres Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Torres won against Elizabeth last Friday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Toros blew past the Jefferson Democrats 10-1. The win was familiar territory for the Toros, who have now won seven matches in a row.

Abraham Ramos made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 13 over six innings pitched. Ramos was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his six plate appearances.

In other batting news, Torres let Jouse Solis Rojas and Angel Tostado run wild. Solis Rojas scored a run and stole two bases while going 3-for-4, while Tostado scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-5. Tostado is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Torres' victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Jefferson, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.

As for Jefferson, they will face off against West Adams at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Democrats are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
