Varnum waltzed into their game on Monday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They skirted past the Wynnewood Savages 10-8. Ten seems to be a good number for the Whippets as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Varnum let Jon Madkins and Devyn Fullbright run wild. Madkins scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Fullbright scored two runs and stole four bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Aiden Cooper, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Varnum always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Varnum's victory bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Wynnewood, they moved to 8-6 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Varnum will venture away from home to square off against Strother at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wynnewood, they will head out to challenge Elmore City-Pernell at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
