Hillside posted their closest victory since December 16, 2025 on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Riverside-Durham Pirates, sneaking past 48-46. The win almost wasn't to be: the Hornets were down 26-12 in the second quarter.

Among those leading the charge was Manny Pullium, who posted 18 points. Another player making a difference was Tyler Williamson, who had eight points.

Hillside's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-7. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points over those games. As for Riverside-Durham, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hillside will welcome Chapel Hill at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Riverside-Durham, they will host Southern School of Energy and Sustainability at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pirates will need to watch out since the Spartans have now posted at least 55 points in their last eight games.
