Softball Recap: Tamalpais Red Tailed Hawks vs. Redwood Giants

Tamalpais lost against Redwood back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Tamalpais fell just short of Redwood by a score of 4-3. The loss was the Red Tailed Hawks' first of the season.

Ava Lee was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over six innings pitched. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single walk, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Zoe Phletcher made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Hazel Walsh also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Tamalpais fell to 5-1. As for Redwood, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-5.
