Central faced Carver Montgomery in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Red Devils blew past the Wolverines 58-35. Considering the Red Devils have won six matchups by more than 22 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Bobby Coleman continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 219 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.0 yards per attempt.

Carver Montgomery's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elijah Tarver, who rushed for 117 yards and a pair of TDs. Zion Crumpton was another key player, rushing for 85 yards on only 11 carries.

Central pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.3 points over those games. As for Carver Montgomery, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 5-2.
