Volleyball Recap: Avon Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Avon posted their closest victory since September 10, 2024 on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Sturgis East Storm, sneaking past 3-2. Winning may never get old, but the Panthers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Avon had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 18-25, 20-25, 25-18, 25-22, 15-11.

Manaelle Narcisse paced Avon's offense, picking up 12 kills. Narcisse really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with seven. Daniel Evans controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

Avon's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Sturgis East, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Avon will welcome Atlantis at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Sturgis East, they will host Rising Tide at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
