The Woodlan Warriors will venture away from home to challenge the Fremont Eagles at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. Woodlan will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
While Woodlan's victory against Central Noble wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Warriors sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over the Cougars on Saturday.
Ethan Trygg and Ben Delagrange dominated on the mound. Trygg pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit, while Delagrange pitched four innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. What's more, Delagrange posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April.

At the plate, Drew Fleek was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played.
Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian hit Fremont with a four-run third inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Eagles came up short against the Braves, falling 14-4.
Fremont saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cayden Hufnagle, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Woodlan's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-13. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Fremont, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-8 record this season.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Woodlan has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Fremont struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Woodlan was able to grind out a solid victory over Fremont in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 6-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
