Volleyball Recap: Avon Gets the Win

If Andes Central/Dakota Christian wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Avon, they should've done a better job of containing Jordyn Voigt. The Pirates were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Andes Central/Dakota Christian on Thursday thanks in part to Voigt, who had 21 digs. Voigt is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least 16 every time she's taken the court this season.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Avon took every set by at least 11 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-10, 25-10.

Avon's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Andes Central/Dakota Christian, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Avon will venture away from home to square off against Tripp-Delmont/Armour at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Andes Central/Dakota Christian, they will head out to take on Kimball/White Lake at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
