South Effingham hadn't done well against Glynn Academy recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The South Effingham Mustangs narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Glynn Academy Terrors 63-61. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 67-61 win back in January.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead South Effingham to victory, but perhaps none more so than Will Harlin, who posted 14 points and six rebounds. Quinton Williams was another key player, putting up 13 points.

South Effingham smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 19 consecutive matches.

Several Terrors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jermaine Mack, who dropped a double-double with 25 points and 15 boards. The dominant performance gave Mack a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Ahmad Mcintosh, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 13 rebounds.

South Effingham's record is now 8-16. As for Glynn Academy, their defeat was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-25.

Coming up, South Effingham won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Evans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South Effingham knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Evans likes a good challenge. Glynn Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
