Volleyball Game Preview: Magdalena Steers vs. Animas Panthers

For the first time this season, Magdalena will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will venture away from home to take on the Animas Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Magdalena lost 3-0 to Oak Grove Classical Academy on Tuesday.

Magdalena was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Oak Grove Classical Academy work for it, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-23, 25-21.

Meanwhile, Animas came up short against Hatch Valley on Thursday and fell 3-1. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 23-25, 25-22, 25-14.

Animas' loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Magdalena, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-5.

Magdalena might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Animas in their previous meeting back in November of 2024. Can the Steers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
