Central Clinton/Calamus-Wheatland will be defending their home turf for the first time on Friday when they go up against Maquoketa at 7:30 PM. It might come down to the wire as the game is expected to be close.
Central Clinton/Calamus-Wheatland had to kick off their season with an away game, and unfortunately wound up with a long bus ride home. They lost to Center Point-Urbana by a decisive 2-20 margin.
Meanwhile, Maquoketa might have drawn first blood against Anamosa last Friday, but it was Anamosa who got the last laugh. Maquoketa took a 6-17 hit to the loss column at the hands of Anamosa.
With both teams hitting sour notes in their previous games, they will no doubt be looking to produce a better score. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contest, so their meeting could be a low-scoring affair.
