Softball Game Preview: Willits Wolverines vs. Credo Gryphon

For the second straight game, Willits will face off against Credo. The Wolverines will square off against the Gryphon at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Willits knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Credo likes a good challenge.

On Thursday, Willits made easy work of Credo and carried off a 19-3 victory. Considering the Wolverines have won 13 matchups by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Alexandra Ramos, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Abigail Sherf, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Willits always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Credo only posted an OBP of .238.

Willits has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.5 runs over those games. As for Credo, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-9.

Credo's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday. Willits has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.8 strikeouts per game.
