Basketball Recap: Stevens Takes a Loss

After flying high against Derryfield last Friday, Stevens came back down to earth. The Stevens Cardinals fell to the Newport Tigers 56-50. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 61-37 back in December of 2024.

Stevens has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Newport, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

While Stevens had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
