Football Recap: Hastings Takes a Loss

Hastings fell victim to Bennington and their airtight defense on Friday. They were beaten by the Badgers 43-0. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska football rankings (they are ranked 86th, while the Badgers are ranked fifth).

Ty Bouaphakeo was nothing short of spectacular for Bennington: he threw for 194 yards and three touchdowns on only 17 passes, and also rushed for 97 yards. Those 97 rushing yards gave Bouaphakeo a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Knox Naughton, who rushed for 99 yards and a pair of TDs.

Hastings is on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3. As for Bennington, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.
