Softball Recap: Ashford Comes Up Short

Ashford lost to Long back in March and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Yellowjackets came up short against the Rebels, falling 13-2.

Olivia Dodson made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles.

Ashford's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Long, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 14-13 record.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Ashford will head out to face off against Headland at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Long, they will venture away from home to square off against Pike Liberal Arts at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Patriots' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Rebels' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
