Basketball Recap: McGraw Takes a Loss

McGraw was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 72-29 defeat at the hands of the Cortland Purple Tigers. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-13.

Cortland's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zach Muir, who posted 13 points. The dominant performance also gave Muir a new career-high in assists (three). Another player making a difference was Owen Johnson, who scored 11 points and six rebounds.

McGraw's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Cortland, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-2.

McGraw will take on Copenhagen at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for Cortland, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-37 victory against Homer on the 28th.
